Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 7, 2026
SnapHappy Cam ("SnapHappy," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the SnapHappy iPhone application (the "App") or visit the SnapHappy website (together, the "Services").
1. Scope and responsibility
This policy applies to information handled by SnapHappy through the Services. It does not replace the privacy policies of Apple, a video provider, an AI provider, a sharing destination, or another third-party service you choose to use with SnapHappy.
2. Information handled by SnapHappy
Camera, photos, and videos
With your permission, the App uses the front camera to provide a live preview and capture photos. Camera frames are processed on-device for camera functions such as framing, smile detection, focus, exposure, and optional portrait effects. SnapHappy does not use face recognition, create identity profiles, or send camera frames to us.
Captured photos are stored in the App's local storage and, with permission, in your Apple Photos library. Videos imported from Photos are copied into the App's local storage. These files remain on your device unless you deliberately share them, submit content to another service, or your Apple settings cause them to synchronize through services such as iCloud Photos.
Location
If you grant While Using the App location permission, SnapHappy may obtain your device's location near the time a photo is captured. The coordinates may be attached to the photo and stored with its local SnapHappy record so the App can display where the photo was taken. SnapHappy does not request background location and does not transmit photo coordinates to us. Apple services such as Photos and MapKit may process location information under Apple's own privacy terms.
Settings and on-device diagnostics
The App stores settings, feature state, purchase-entitlement state, randomly generated session identifiers, recent feature-interaction events, and limited technical diagnostics on your device. Diagnostic entries can include timestamps, app version, capture timing, photo dimensions, feature selections, and error information. They do not include the contents of your photos or videos. In the current production configuration, SnapHappy does not transmit this diagnostic history to us or to a third-party analytics provider.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. SnapHappy receives product and entitlement status needed to provide purchased features. We do not receive your payment-card number or other payment credentials. Apple may provide developers with transaction and sales reports under Apple's terms.
Optional AI video generation
If AI video generation is available in your version of the App and you choose to use it, the text prompt you submit, your network address, technical request data, and a generated job identifier are sent to SnapHappy's video-generation service and its AI service provider. The generated video is downloaded to your device. SnapHappy's proxy does not permanently store the generated video; it uses network-address information temporarily for security and hourly rate limiting. Do not include names, photos, contact details, or other personal information in an AI prompt. The feature is not active when no generation service is configured.
Custom video links and sharing
If you add a YouTube or direct video link, your device connects to the provider or host you selected. That provider may receive information such as your IP address and request details. If you use the iOS share sheet, the content and any associated metadata are sent only to the destination you select, subject to that destination's privacy practices.
Website information
When you visit the SnapHappy website, the website host and content-delivery providers may automatically process standard request data such as IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, timestamps, and security logs. The main website currently uses Google-hosted fonts, so Google may receive standard request data when those fonts load. SnapHappy does not use the website to build advertising profiles.
| Information | Purpose | Where it is handled |
|---|---|---|
| Camera frames, photos, and imported videos | Camera, review, editing, saving, and sharing features | On your device, unless you choose an external destination |
| Photo location | Attach and display where a photo was captured | On your device and Apple services you use |
| Settings and limited diagnostics | Remember choices and improve reliability | On your device in the current production configuration |
| Purchase entitlement | Unlock and restore paid features | On your device and by Apple |
| AI prompt and technical request data, if used | Generate the requested video and prevent abuse | SnapHappy's service and its AI provider |
3. How information is used
Information is used only as reasonably necessary to:
- provide camera, photo-library, location, playback, sharing, and purchase features you request;
- remember your App preferences and local content;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services;
- process optional AI video requests;
- respond to support or privacy requests; and
- comply with law and protect users, SnapHappy, and others.
4. Disclosure and service providers
SnapHappy does not sell or rent personal information. Information may be disclosed only in these circumstances:
- At your direction: to a sharing destination, video host, or other service you select.
- Service providers: to providers that perform hosting, content delivery, security, purchase processing, mapping, or optional AI generation. Providers acting for SnapHappy are required to protect information consistently with this policy and applicable law and to process it only for authorized purposes.
- Legal and safety reasons: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful process, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect rights, property, and safety.
- Business changes: as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice where required.
Relevant third-party policies include Apple's Privacy Policy, Google's Privacy Policy, and, when optional AI generation is enabled, xAI's Privacy Policy.
5. Advertising, tracking, and sale of data
SnapHappy does not display third-party advertising, use the advertising identifier, sell personal information, share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, or track activity across other companies' apps or websites. If these practices ever change, we will update this policy and obtain any consent required before the change applies.
6. Retention and deletion
- SnapHappy photos, thumbnails, imported videos, generated videos, settings, and associated location details remain in the App's local storage until you delete them, reset the relevant setting, or uninstall the App.
- Copies saved to Apple Photos remain there until you delete them from Photos, even if you remove SnapHappy.
- Local diagnostic history is limited to the most recent 300 interaction events and 40 diagnostic entries. Older entries are overwritten. Uninstalling the App removes the App's local diagnostic files.
- The optional AI proxy keeps network-address rate-limit entries in memory for approximately one hour and does not permanently store generated videos. The AI provider may retain request information according to its terms.
- Website security and access logs are retained by hosting providers according to their operational and legal requirements.
Because SnapHappy does not currently offer user accounts or maintain a production database of App photos, videos, locations, or diagnostic history, we generally cannot identify or remotely delete information that exists only on your device. If you believe SnapHappy holds other personal information about you, you may submit a deletion request using the contact method below.
7. Your choices and controls
- Manage camera, photo-library, and location permission in iOS Settings under SnapHappy.
- Decline location access and continue taking photos without SnapHappy location metadata.
- Delete SnapHappy content in the App and separately delete saved copies from Apple Photos.
- Choose whether and where to share a photo or video.
- Avoid submitting an AI prompt or custom link if you do not want the relevant provider to process the request.
- Uninstall the App to remove its local application data, subject to device backups and copies stored in Apple Photos.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent for personal information controlled by SnapHappy. You may also have the right to appeal our response or complain to your local data-protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
8. Children's privacy
SnapHappy is designed for use by parents and caregivers and is not directed to children for independent use. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Images of children captured through the App remain on the user's device unless an adult deliberately shares them through another service. Do not include a child's personal information in an AI prompt, support request, or other submission. If you believe a child has provided personal information to SnapHappy, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
9. Security and international processing
SnapHappy uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information handled, including Apple's application sandbox, system permission controls, and encrypted HTTPS connections for configured network features. No security measure is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you use a network feature, information may be processed in the United States or another country where SnapHappy or its providers operate, with safeguards required by applicable law.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as SnapHappy evolves or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. If a change materially affects how previously collected personal information is used, we will provide additional notice or request consent where required.
11. Contact us
For privacy questions, complaints, or rights requests, contact SnapHappy Cam at support@snaphappycam.app. Please include "Privacy Request" in the subject line and describe your request and country or state of residence. We may need to verify your request before responding.
